RUTH (GALE) SHAPIRO, 56, of 4900 General Anderson Court, Sharpsburg, Maryland, died on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Meritus Medical Center. Born December 19, 1954 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Helena Mullendore Shapiro of Sharpsburg, Maryland, and the late Morris Shapiro. In addition to her mother, she is survived by four sisters, Susan Shapiro, and Sheila Cook, and her husband, Tom, both of Sharpsburg, Maryland, Marlene Cox, and her husband, Lee, of Hagerstown, and Diane Unger, and her husband, Mark, of Stephen City, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and Aunts and Uncles. Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p. m. Friday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown. The Rev. Terry Crawford will officiate. There will be no viewing.
