Ruth Agnes Stottlemyer Revell passed away on Saturday, November 23, at the age of 86. She was born July 27, 1927 in Williamsport, MD, the daughter of the late Ralph J. and Edna M. Mason Stottlemyer. She and her husband, Bob Revell, spent thirty-five years leading the Highway Assembly of God Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia, building the congregation from three persons to several hundreds. Ruth was a beloved friend of many thousands of church members and neighbors who passed through her life. Earlier in their 63 years together, Ruth and Bob has served the deaf community as church builders in both Virginia and California. In 1990 she and Bob retired back to the Hagerstown area, where they continued to be active in the church. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Robert E. Revell Sr.; her children, Bob Revell, Jr. and Cheryl Revell McCulla; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Hope Kline, Joy Dennis and Sarah Hampton and a brother, Rev. Kenneth M. Stottlemyer. Services will be held at Potomac Park Retreat and Conference Center, Falling Waters, WV, on Friday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m.. The Revs. Curt Snyder, Dick Jackson and Ken Burtram will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, and from 10-11 a.m. on Friday prior to the service at the Potomac Park Retreat and Conference Center.
