Roy Lee Funk Sr., 83, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023. He was born on July 17, 1940 to the late Benjamin S. Funk and Matilda Hassler Funk.

Roy worked for 37 years for Pangborn manufacturing, retiring in 2000. He was a car enthusiast and an avid NASCAR fan. Roy also enjoyed traveling, especially to the lake. He was a member of Evangel Baptist Church in Hagerstown. Additionally, he was a member of the Antietam Fire Company and the Redmen Tribe 84 in Williamsport. Most of all, Roy enjoyed spending time with his family and pets.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Paul Funk, William "Billy" Funk, Robert Funk, Sue Teach, and Ruth Daley.

Roy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Delores Ann Funk; his children, Barbara J. Kending and her husband, Marty and Roy Lee Funk Jr. and his wife, Laura; his grandchildren, Shelby Kelley (Joshua), Kyle Toms (Kelli), Sarah Deavers (Michelle), Mike Hardin (Alishia), and Joey Hardin (Rachel); his great-grandchildren, Carson Toms, Hunter Kendrick, Blake Kendrick, Bentley Hardin, and Addison Hardin; and his sisters, Eleanor Reed and Doris Kline.

Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11:00am at Evangel Baptist Church, 17922 Broadfording Road in Hagerstown with a visitation held one hour prior at the church.

Interment will take place at Broadfording Cemetery in Hagerstown.
