Obituary

Rose Ann Kershner, of Hagerstown, Maryland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 15, 2026, while surrounded by her loved ones.

Born March 2, 1939, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Anna K. (Klick) Harbaugh and John L. Harbaugh.

As a member of Maranatha Brethren Church, Rose was active over the years in supporting the Ambassadors' Class, Growers and Glowers, the church's Shoebox Ministry program, and the annual Vacation Bible School in whatever way she could. She loved her church family very much, especially her sisters in Christ, Jo, Bev, Joanne, Nancy, Melody, Louise, Cheryl, Heidi, Sue, Betty, and Denise, just to name a few.

She was a devoted daughter, wife, sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. Her loving and caring nature carried over into her work as well. She worked at Washington County Hospital for numerous years and later worked as a private duty nurse's aide. She also cared for three members of her own family. She continually sacrificed and gave to many.

Besides her uncle, Stanley Klick of Hagerstown, she is survived by her children: Steve Mason of Clear Spring; Brenda Mason and Glenda Mason, both of Hagerstown; Towanna Mason of Owensboro, Kentucky; Teresa Brereton of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; and Tina Summers of Eldersburg, Maryland. She is also survived by her friend and stepdaughter, Beverly Renner, and her sister-in-law, Kaye Harbaugh, both of Hagerstown, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, John R. Kershner; one brother, Michael Harbaugh; one son, Terry Mason; one daughter, Linda Mason; two stepdaughters, Carol Buzzard and Pamela Clipp; and four grandsons.

The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Ron Shank will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Maranatha Brethren Church Youth Group, 19835 Scott Hill Drive, Hagerstown, MD 21742, or Hospice of Washington County, 714 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
