Obituary

Ronald Lee Turner 75, of Hagerstown, MD, entered into the presence of His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Doey’s House, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born August 6, 1951, in Washington County, MD, he was the son of the late Franklin Raymond and Betty Lee (Zepp) Turner.

Ron graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1969 and got his Culinary/Hospitality Degree at Hagerstown Junior College. He was employed at Turners Skate Palace where he met his wife, Tina. He later managed at the Tortuga Restaurant/Ramada Inn/Convention Center, where he served many.

His next adventure was purchasing the Delmar Inn and Restaurant from 1980-1991. Ronald then worked with his father in his many businesses. From there, he worked at Walmart Super Center in the produce department from 2000 until resigning in 2018 due to health issues. Through his years of employment he encountered many people and built many lasting friendships.

He always had a smile on his face, a joke to share and a willing, helping hand. Ron was a giver and did not let anyone leave his house or presence with an empty stomach.

He was a member of New Covenant Fellowship in Fairplay, MD where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher and later attended Covenant Life Church in Hagerstown. His favorite Bible verse was 2 Corinthians 5:17, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come”.

Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Joshua Turner.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Tina Marie Turner; brothers, Larry Turner and Raymond Turner; granddaughter, Ciarra Nicole Turner; great grandson, Asher Ray Renner; and nieces and nephews, including Sandra Melton (Mark).

Graveside services for family and friends will be 11am Friday, August 28, 2026, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Peter Guadalope officiating.
