Obituary

Robin Kay Cockroft, 72, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Born Robin K. Barnes in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Frances and William Barnes. She was also preceded in death by her son, Bernard Ashbrook, Jr.

Robin is survived by her loving husband, Leonard Cockroft; her son, Randy Ashbrook, Sr. and wife, Krystal; her stepsons, Shane, Andy, Bryan, and Shaun, and their families; her brothers, John and Bill Barnes; her sisters, Mary Kimble, Kathy Branch, and Joanna Barnes; granddaughters, Briana Ashbrook and Jocelyn Kershner; grandsons, Noah Brooks, Joshua Kershner, and Randy Ashbrook, Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Emryn, Alaya, and Beau. She is also survived by Shaun’s children, Jessica and Dakota, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Robin cherished the time she spent surrounded by her family and treasured the many memories they shared together. She had a love for dancing like no other and especially enjoyed going to watch The Cruisers perform. Robin also loved shopping, and there was no place she enjoyed more than the clearance section. Her love of life, her warm personality, and the joy she found in the simple things will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Robin retired from Maryland Ribbon after more than 30 years of dedicated service.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, as well as by her two beloved dogs, who were a special part of her life.

A viewing will be held at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
