Robert "Bob" Ettore Vidoni, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at Hagerstown Health Care. Born October 14, 1930 in Italy, he was the son of the late, Ettore and Maddalena (Mattioni) Vidoni. Bob was a 1949 graduate of St. Mary High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight technician. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. With his parents and siblings, Bob was the owner/operator of The Venice Inn. For over 50 years, Bob was known for his exceptional cooking and catering skills, and creative ice sculptures. Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dolores Rocco Vidoni; two daughters, Robin Brooks and husband, Stephen of Hagerstown, and Diane Vidoni of Miami FL and companion, Thomas Toth; one son, R. Alan Vidoni and wife, Melissa of Portland, OR; one sister, Marta Fenton and husband, Jim of Lakeland, FL; one brother, Richard Vidoni of Hagerstown; three grandsons, Zachary Brooks, Josuha Brooks, and Xander Vidoni; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Poffenberger; and brother-in-law, Gerald Poffenberger. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Friday, February 16, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Christopher Moore will be celebrant. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
