Robert Carson Stotelmyer, Sr., 97, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home in Boonsboro, MD.
Born September 28, 1923 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Edgar Lee and Eva Blanche Stotelmyer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Louise Watts of Hagerstown, whom he married February 17, 1943.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Stotelmyer, Jr. of Hagerstown, and Rick Stotelmyer and wife, Bonnie of Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren; and two great-great children.
Robert served with the Military Police in the US Air Force in the United States and in Europe during WWII for 33 months.
He was an employee of The Pennsylvania Railroad for 29 years. After which he worked for E.T. Cline and Jefferson House Builders, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church on Summit Avenue, American Legion Post 42, and AARP.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 5 to 7:30pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown, MD. The funeral service will immediately follow at 7:30pm with Rev. Randall Reid officiating.
The public is invited to the graveside service to be held at 10am on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Rose Hill Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 42.
