Obituary

ROBERT HARLAN STONER, 91, of Homewood Retirement Village, 16505 Virginia Avenue, Williamsport, Maryland, died on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport. Born August 7, 1916 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Moffett J. and Fannie Shifler Stoner. He graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1934, and Columbia Business College. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army Air Force. He was employed with Fairchild Aircraft for twenty-six years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, the Men's Bible Class, the United Methodist Men, and a member of the Administrative Board since 1947. He was a member of the American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42; Quarter Century Wireless Association; and was a Radio Amateur Operator since 1934 with call letters W3MP and W3EP. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia P. Stoner; and one brother, Paul Stoner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. David R. Brosnan will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one-half hour prior to the service.
