Obituary

Robert Lee Sensenbaugh, 93, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025 at Meritus Medical Center.  Born September 15, 1932 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Ernest Wolf Sensenbaugh and Naomi Gertrude (Gardner) Sensenbaugh.

He graduated from Hagerstown High School and Columbia Technical Institute.

Robert served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps including duty in Korea. He retired as project engineer in Power Train Development of Mack Trucks. Previously employed in Pangborn Corporation Engineering, Mills and Petticord Architects Engineers, and Chewsville Corporation. After retirement, Robert worked part-time in the office and as a Seasonal Ranger at Greenbrier State Park. He served briefly on the State Park Advisory Commission until it was no longer utilized. Later he was a Computer Aided Designer for Waynesboro Desing Corporation and the Force Corporation of Oakton, VA.

He served as treasurer and then vice-president of Mack Management club, Program Chairman for Southern Engineering Society and was on the board of directors of Bulldog Federal Credit Union as treasurer and briefly as acting manager. He worked as a Washington County Election Judge for 2004.

Robert was previously a member of Morris Frock Post 42 of the American Legion, the Fraternal Order of Elks 378, and the Waynesboro, PA Eagles Incorporated, Waynesboro Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Friends of the National Zoo. He was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church, where he served in the Usher's Guild and played the clarinet in the Sunday School Orchestra. He also played in the old Hagerstown Civic Band.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Annette (Brode) Sensenbaugh.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery on Monday, October 13, 2025 with military honors. There will be no graveside service.
