REV. ROBERT JOHN SEEK, 86, of 17530 West Washington Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at his home. Born September 21, 1924 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William and Eva Miller Seek. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe with the Army Air Corps as a First Sergeant. He graduated from Fort Wayne Bible College with a B. A. degree in Bible, in 1953, serving as an ordained minister for fifty-eight years. After college he pastored a missionary church for three years in Archbold, Ohio. He moved to Hagerstown in 1956 to serve as Pastor at Cedar Lawn Missionary Church for over fifty years. He held various other occupations while serving as Pastor. He retired from General Motors in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He volunteered at the Hagerstown Christian Rescue Mission, for more than fifty years. He had a radio ministry; has had songs published; and enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, cooking, singing. His greatest joy was sharing the Gospel with other people through preaching, music, artwork, teaching, and he recently completed a German class. He loved the nation of Israel, and has been to the Holy Land five times. He was a member of the Williamsport American Legion, Post 202. He was happily married for sixty-three years to his wife, Dorothy; and was a devoted father to his son, Timothy, and his wife, Linda, a son, Jonathan, and his wife, Brenda; and a daughter, Roberta, and her husband, Frank. He is survived by a brother, Tod E. Seek. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and many other individuals who were considered to be part of his family. He is preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday at Cedar Lawn Missionary Church. The Rev. Ward Childerson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p. m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown.
