Robert Thomas Oliver, Sr., 89, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Doey's House.

Born November 15, 1934, he was the son of the late Cecil and Catherine (McGuirk) Oliver.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Shirley Temple Oliver on August 23, 2022.

Robert retired from the GSA, Government Service Administration.

He was a skilled carpenter and loved making furniture. He enjoyed traveling to Charleston, SC and Ocean City, MD. He also enjoyed genealogy, horse racing, going to Chincoteague for fishing, and to his son's farm for deer hunting. His family brought him much joy, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Gregory Oliver (wife, Patricia) and Robert Oliver, Jr. (wife, Debra); two grandchildren, Amber Marie Oliver and Andrew Ryan Oliver; and one brother, James Oliver.

In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Grimmel and his brother, Cecil Oliver, Jr.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
