ROBERT EUGENE "BOB" KENDLE, SR., 87, of Autumn Assisted Living, and formerly of 19717 Cool Hollow Road, Hagerstown, Md., died on Monday, April 30, 2007 at the Washington County hospital. Born May 11, 1919 in Maugansville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Preston Miller Kendle, Sr. and Martha Stine Kendle. He was employed as a driver with Smith Transfer, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Benevola United Methodist Church. He was a former member of Blue Ridge Riding Club of Mapleville and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Jane Sinnisen Kendle; five sons, Robert E. Kendle, Jr. of Boonsboro, Jerry Lee Kendle of Grafton, Virginia, James Edward Kendle, William Dale Kendle and Steven Roger Kendle, all of Hagerstown; five sisters, Kate Myers of Williamsport, Md., Cora Snowberger, Doris Roberts , JoAnn Brining, and Virginia Willis, all of Hagerstown; five brothers, Harry Kendle of Hagerstown, Donald Kendle of Boonsboro, Preston M. Kendle, Jr. of Hagerstown, Ralph Kendle and Leon Kendle, both of Boonsboro; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Kendle and two brothers, Glen Kendle and Richard Kendle. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m Thursday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Helen Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The family has requested the omission of flowers and donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
