Robert Lee Hovermale, Sr., 91, of Hagerstown, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Doey's House. Born May 4, 1930, in Big Pool, MD, he was the son of the late William P. and Ada Pearl (Long) Hovermale. Robert was a U. S. Air Force veteran and a member of Harvest Baptist Church. He was previously employed by Fairchild and retired from Mack Truck after 30 years. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hovermale; three daughters, Lois Quinn, and husband, Kevin, Jennifer Hovermale, and Andrea Melvin, and husband, Jared; three sisters, Joanne Schaeffer, Joyce Marconi, Nancy Clingerman; one brother, Gary Hovermale; and six grandchildren, Elizabeth Hovermale, Michele Freeman, Justin Helman, Marae Andreaccio, Nicholas Andreaccio; and Matthew Melvin. He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Hovermale, Jr.; three sisters; and four brothers. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 6-8pm at Minnich Funeral Home. Services will be held 11am Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor James E. Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Grossnickle Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 11301 Meeting House Rd., Myersville, MD.
