ROBERT LEE HOVERMALE JR., 61, on June 14, 2011, Robert died in Cumberland, Maryland of natural causes. Born March 1, 1950 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of Robert Lee Hovermale, Sr., of Hagerstown, and the late Merilyn Adeline Hovermale. Robert served in the United States Air Force as staff sergeant, and was in the Vietnam War. He retired from Mack Trucks. As a child he was a Boy Scout at First Christian Church on Potomac Avenue in Hagerstown, Md. While in Scouts he achieved the honor of becoming an Eagle Scout and the honor of God and Country. Robert was a very free spirited person and loved to camp, hike, swim, mushroom hunt and caving. Robert is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Ann Cox of Waynesboro, Pa., Sharon Judd of Hagerstown, Md. and Saundra Cline of Hagerstown, Md.; four grandchildren, Breana Nicole Boarman, Corey Judd, Dustin Judd and Riley Cline. As well as four sisters, Lois LaPole, Jennifer Hovermale, Sherry Cunningham and Andrea Melvin. A memorial service will be at 7pm Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate.
