ROBERT LOUIS GRUBB, 79, of 158 Southern Oak Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, August 09, 2005 at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown. Born October 9, 1925 in Lovettsville, Virginia, he was the son of the late Robert Louis and Mary Golda Myers Grubb. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Ann Grubb on December 22, 1999. He served in the U. S. Army. He was retired from General Motors in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He was a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church. He was a member of the Amvets Post 10, the American Legion, Funkstown Post 211, the Seventeenth Airborne Association, and the 82nd Airborne Association. He is survived by one daughter, Susan A. Alsip of Hagerstown; one sister, Catherine Short of Maugansville, Maryland; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Gary W. Grubb, Sr., and a half-sister, Mildred Swenson. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown. Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post 42. There will be no viewing.
