ROBERT HENRY BUTLER, SR., 84, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 at Meritus Medical Center. Born April 19, 1931 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Paul O. and Edna Barnhart Butler. Robert graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1949. He was formerly employed with Hagerstown Dairy, and retired from Maryland Correctional Training Center. Robert was a member of Funkstown American Legion, and St. Andrews United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Butler who passed away September 24, 2005. Robert is survived by one daughter, Lisa J. Bradley and husband, Randy, of Williamsport; three sons, Robert H. Butler, Jr and wife, Nancy, of Williamsport, Michael E. Butler and friend, Mary, of Hagerstown, and Richard O. Butler and wife, Angela, of Hagerstown; four sisters, Nancy Miller of Hagerstown, Pat McAllister of Clear Spring, Joan Byers of Williamsport, and Cheryl Hixon of Williamsport; one brother, James Butler of Chambersburg, PA; and six grandchildren, Robert Butler, III and wife, Jessica, Christopher Butler, Rebekah Butler, Caitlin Butler, Meghan Butler, and Aaron Butler. In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by one sister, Paula Moser Scott; one brother, Paul O. Butler; one daughter-in-law, Robyn Butler; and very special niece, Randy Jo Moser. Services will be held 11am Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Church of God Universal, 12819 Point Salem Road, Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Gregory Tyler will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.
