ROBERT PAUL BUTERBAUGH, 84, of 703 N. Main Street, Boonsboro, Maryland, and formerly of Paramount, Maryland, died on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro. He was at Reeders since May 21, 2009. Born September 17, 1924 in Paramount, Maryland, he was the son of the late Paul Revere and Irma Nigh Buterbaugh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alfredah Buterbaugh on November 19, 1988. He graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1949. He was employed for thirty-four years with Pangborn Corporation, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, serving as a Sunday School teacher and on church council for many years. He was a charter member of the Longmeadow Fire Company. He served as a volunteer with the Salvation Army for many years. He is survived by one niece, several cousins, and close friends and caregivers, Jean Reese and Connie Reese, whom he lived with for the last twelve years. At his request, services and burial will be private. There will be no viewing. Please omit flowers. In his memory, at his request he asks that you donate your time to help a handicap person.
