Robert "Bob" Donald Barton, 80 of Hagerstown, passed away, Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Doey's House. Born March 23, 1941 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Lawrence William and Hazel Marie (Hawbaker) Barton. Bob served in the National Guard and retired from Craig's Paving. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Doris Jean Barton, on October 24, 2020. Bob is survived by five children, Nina Vaughn, Mark Barton, and wife, Christy, Timothy (Ditty) Barton, Nanette Murray, and husband, Richard, and Robert (Louch) Barton; one sister, Darlene Swales; 18 Grandchildren; and 14 Great Grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Esther Barton, Sandy Harbaugh, Sharon Derr, and Connie Shalters, and husband, Larry. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by seven sisters, Faye St. Clair, Sarah Jane Barton, Dorothy Jolliffee, Jean Jenkins, Peggy Barton, Alda Jenkins, and Helen Stonebreaker; and three brothers, Clyde Barton, Charles Barton, and Lawrence Barton, Jr. Graveside services will be held 12:00pm Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Sergeant Major Larry Miller of the Salvation Army will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
