Ricky Lynn Martz, Sr., 57, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at his home. Born October 26, 1958 in Boonsboro, MD, he was the son of Doris (Shockey) Martz and the late Gerald Benjamin Martz. Ricky served 22 years with Washington County Department of Highway (Western Division) as a Supervisor. He was a loving and devoted individual. He loved spending time with his wife and daughters, and was always there to lend a helping hand. Ricky was a longtime Redskins fan. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sharon Martz; two daughters, Brooke Van Riper and husband, John, of Harrisburg, PA, and Angela Mills of Hagerstown MD; two sisters, Teresa Keefer and husband, Randy, and Pam Kline and husband, Gary, all of Hagerstown, MD; two brothers, Clark Martz and wife, Julie, and Gerald Martz, all of Hagerstown, MD; many nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews; longtime friends, Steve and Wendy Fauber of Little River, SC; and two grand-fur-babies, Gizmo and Cosmo. Ricky was preceded in death by his father; good friends, Jeff Willis and Jimmy Manion; and three fur babies, Mercedes, Beamer, and Neiko.
