Richard Thomas Wigfield, 74, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Tuesday, May 09, 2023, at his home.

Born August 17, 1948, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Homer Leo and Dorothy Kathleen (McCusker) Wigfield.

Richard was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He served in the Coast Guard in Kodiak, AK and Erie, PA. He worked for Mack Truck for several years and after that at Fort Detrick, where he retired from.

Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon Wigfield; one son, Jason Wigfield and wife Kristen; two granddaughters, Tate and Demi Wigfield; two sisters, Dorinda Stanley and Jane Ambrose; and two brothers, Gary Wigfield and Dean Wigfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lowell Wigfield.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Monday, May 15, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 17630

Virginia Ave., Hagerstown. Rev. John Jicha will officiate.
