RICHARD PRESTON SHOWE, 86, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. Born April 26, 1928 in Washington County, MD, he was the son of the late Richard Aaron and Anna Bonebrake Showe. Richard retired from Fairchild Aircraft after 47 years of service. He was past Governor of Moose Lodge with Pilgrim Degree; a member of Williamsport Red Men Tribe #84, and Potomac Fish and Game Club. Richard was owner of Race Horses in Charles Town, WV. He was preceded in death by wife, Pauline Showe, and wife, Gloria Showe. Richard is survived by three children, James Richard Showe and wife, Carol, of Williamsport, Cindy Curry and husband, David, of Williamsport, and Richard Preston Showe II and wife, Cheryl, of Clear Spring; one sister, Sharon Cunningham of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren, James R. Showe II, Michael A. Showe, Renee Wolfe, Laura Fiery Dobbs, Jennifer Mueller, Ashley Kauffman, Andrew Henson, and Lindsey Henson; twenty-four great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wives, Richard was preceded in death by his step-mother, Francis Showe; and one daughter, Latisha Showe. Services will be held 11am, Monday, December 15, 2014 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Thom C. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 2 to 5pm at the funeral home.
