RICHARD FRANKLIN JORDAN, JR. 66, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown. Born February 11, 1950, in Hagerstown, MD he was the son of the late Richard Franklin and Hazel Mae Fiegley Jordan, Sr. Richard was a 1968 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. He was a career firefighter for the city of Hagerstown for 31 years and a founding member of the IAFF Local 1605 Honor Guard. He enjoyed spending time outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman. Richard also enjoyed taking care of his family, especially his wife and daughter and all his beloved family pets. Richard is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia; one daughter, Christina Jordan; one sister, Sharon K. Kirby; half-sister, Sandy Sprecher; one aunt, Jenene Crawford and several nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank extended family members, Elizabeth and David Swain (sister/brother-in-law) and Gloria McCormac (sister-in-law) for their support during his battle. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one sister, Linda I. Vance. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 15, 2016 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Chuck Schroer will officiate. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
