RICHARD WARREN HEBB, 88, of 20110 Trovinger Mill Road, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Friday, January 12, 2007 at the Washington County Hospital. Born December 3, 1918 in Funkstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Guy and Florence Warrenfeltz Hebb. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Prior to World War II, he was employed with R. J. Reynolds; after World War II he owned and operated Hebbs Store on Jefferson Boulevard for thirty-seven years. Hebb's Used Car Sales until 2004. He was a life long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and served on the church council and the building committee. He was a charter member of the Chewsville Lions Club served as president for three times. He was a member of B.P.O Elks Lodge No.378. He was an Eagle Scout. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Evelyn Nye Hebb; one daughter, Peggy Hebb of Hagerstown, Maryland; one son, Jim Hebb and wife, Connie of Hagerstown, Maryland; one sister, Jean Hogen and husband Tom of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; two grandsons, Scott Allen Hebb and wife Judy of Hagerstown, Maryland and Brian Lee Hebb of Hagerstown, Maryland. He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Richard Hebb and one sister, Helen Chapman. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 24 East Baltimore, Street, Funkstown, Maryland. The Rev. Darrell L. Layman and Rev. Doris J. Doub will officiate. Burial will be in Funkstown Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday 7 to 9 p.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland.
