Richard Ernest Guessford III, 52, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away early Sunday, December 7, 2025, after a long battle with health issues.  Born on May 27, 1973, in Washington County, MD, he was the son of the late Richard Ernest Guessford, Jr., and Betty Jane Kershner.

Richard spent many years driving a cab before finding his place with AMT Leasing, where he worked as a handyman. A true jack of all trades, he was always willing to lend a hand. He was the best Dad and Pappy—deeply devoted to his family. He loved his truck, camping, and being outdoors, and he was constantly on the move. Richard had a giving heart and would do anything for anyone.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Tina Guessford; his children, Dee Barnard and husband, Anthony, John Barnard and wife, Amber, Doris Green and husband, William, and Troy Palmer; as well as 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown, MD.

The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the funeral home with Pastor Rodney Rhodes officiating.
