RICHARD CLARENCE BOWERS, 86, of 1440 South Potomac Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the Washington County Hospital. Born September 1, 1920 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Roy Cleggett and Cora Bell Green Bowers. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army. He retired after forty-five years of employment with Danzer Metal Works. He was a member of the American Legion, Funkstown Post 211. He is survived by his wife, Helen A. Bowers; two sons, Michael R. Bowers of Hagerstown, and Donald F. Bowers of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, and eleven brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Kevin Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
