Obituary

Reginald Franklin Thacker, Jr., 76, (known as Reggie to all his friends and buddies) was born on Tuesday, January 25, 1948 in Charlottesville, VA. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 24, 2025. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, he passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald Franklin, Sr. and Betty (Croft) Thacker. He is survived by his sister, Shirley Ann Thacker and his "adopted family" Wayne and Melissa Monn, all of Hagerstown, MD.

Reggie served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Once returning home from the Army, he attended college and graduated as a draftsman. He worked for Washington Suburban Sanitation Commission for 28 years before retiring.

He was a member of the American Legion, Williamsport Red Men Lodge 84 and The Little Club. He enjoyed hanging out with his "buddies", throwing horseshoes, and playing shuffleboard. His favorite hobby was tinkering around in the garage; building hot rods. He proudly owned two beautiful 1932 Ford Coups-Both were his pride and joy. He was a proud supporter of President Trump.

Private services will be held.

Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Rd., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
