RAY THOMAS NORRIS, 73, of 18557 Burnside Bridge Road, Sharpsburg, Maryland, died on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at the Washington County Hospital. Born June 5, 1930 in Sandy Hook, Maryland, he was the son of the late Everett E. and Lucy Penner Norris. He was employed with CSX Railroad as an engineer, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and the A.A.R.P. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Lynda Delauney Norris; four sisters, Ruth McGolerick of Weverton, Maryland, Theada Deener of Georgia, Anna Guyer of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Betty Hepperle of Hagerstown; one brother, Fred Norris of St. James, Maryland; nieces and nephews; son-in-law, John Souders of Sharpsburg, Maryland; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and Dallas Waters of Sharpsburg, Maryland; special sister-in-law, Lisa Berker of Sharpsburg, Maryland; and his pet dog, Myra. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Diane Souders on January 31, 2004; two sisters, Genevieve Ingram, and Louella Baer; and three brothers, Bradley Norris, Quentin Norris, and Everett Norris. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
