RALPH COOLIDGE GORMAN, 88, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at his home. Born May 31, 1923 in Welch Run, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Mary Jane Keefer Gorman. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army He was retired after twenty years from MCI as a correctional officer. He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Mary Ann Gorman; two daughters, Teena Bottenus, and husband, Rick, of Baltimore, Maryland, and Sherry Lowry, and husband Michael, of Baltimore, Maryland; one son, Larry Gorman, and wife, Lorraine, of Boonsboro, Maryland; one step-daughter, Mary Kershner, and husband, Randall, of Hagerstown; one step-son, Elery Martin, and wife, Winnie, of Hagerstown; one brother, Glenn Gorman of St. Thomas, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Leedy Gorman; three brothers; four sisters. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a. m. Tuesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Anjel Scarborough will officiate. His body was donated to the Maryland Anatomical Board.
