RALPH MCCLELLAN (SAM) BAKER, SR., 91, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center. Born December 28, 1921, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Albert and Julia D. Warner Baker. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army. He was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. He was previously employed by Schindel-Rohrer and Co., Inc. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. He was a life member of the Potomac Fish & Game Club, and a member of B.P.O. Elks #378, and the Morris Frock American Legion, Post 42. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Betty Troxell Baker; one daughter, Mary M. Kalmus of Bowie, Maryland; one son, Ralph M. Baker, Jr. of Crofton, Maryland; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Stephani Steele will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be conducted by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p. m.
