Qi Sheng Chen, 55, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Born March 27, 1967 in China, he was the son of Li Xian Jiang, who lives in China, and the late Ji Chu Chen.

Qi immigrated from China in 1990. He was the owner and operator of China Gourmet for 20 years. He was a hard worker and worked every day. He loved to joke with people and was a very loyal friend. He was very kind, generous, loving, and, at times, crazy. He was a man of few words. He put up a gruff exterior, but inside he had a big heart. He enjoyed learning new trades, including HVAC, and often spent his free time tinkering, taking apart, repairing, and building things.

Qi is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cui Yu Zheng; two daughters, Janie Chen (boyfriend, Dishon Colston) and Denise Chen; and one brother, Xiang Zhong Chen, and his wife, Fei Feng Zhu, from Flushing, NY.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jin Xia Chen.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 1-4pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.

Burial will be private.
