Phyllis M. Speaker, 98, of Somerford Assisted Living, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Somerford House. Born on November 1, 1925 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Gorman B. and Orpha E. (Albert) Betts.

She was previously employed by C&P Telephone Co., New Jersey Bell, and retired in 1983 as a Network Clerk from Southern Bell (now Bell South) in Daytona Beach, FL after 35 years of service.

Phyllis was a member of First Christian Church of Deland, FL and was a member of Emmanual United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred A. Speaker in 1973.

Surviving family members include Gary and Marge Rohrer of Boonsboro, Cindy Rohrer of Hagerstown, and their families whom she was very close and revered.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
