Peacefully on Thursday, February 21, 2008, PHYLLIS KINSEY HORINE, 85, passed on to the Lord in her home in Boonsboro, Maryland. A caring, family woman, Phyllis spent her life surrounded by loved ones from childhood till time of passing. She was admired for her kindness of heart and trust in the Lord. Born January 25, 1923 in York, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Becker and Helen Irene Becker Norman. A beloved wife, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Sherman Maxwell Kinsey, and her second husband, James Ross Horine. An adoring mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Phyllis is survived by one daughter, Kathy Ann Siecker of Hagerstown; one son, Steven Maxwell Kinsey of Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Angela Siecker of Chapel Hill, N. C., David Siecker, and wife Michelle, of Waynesboro, Pa., Amy Chaney, and husband Tony, of Hagerstown, Timothy Siecker of Hagerstown, and Scott Kinsey, and wife Jessica, of Hagerstown; four great-grandchildren, Hailey Chaney, Ethan Chaney, Jaden Kinsey, all of Hagerstown, and Joshua Siecker of Waynesboro, Pa.; and her special niece, Michelle Shives, and husband Mark, and children, Danny and Zach Shives, of Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Jessie Lookabaugh and step father J.J. Norman. Phyllis was retired from the Department of Social Services in Hagerstown, a member of the Cavetown Homemakers and of Christ Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, 216 North Cleveland Avenue. Reverend Beverly Lang will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 216 North Cleveland Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740. The family would like to thank all those who assisted Phyllis in her final months, especially the caring nursing staff at Washington County Hospital 7th floor.
