Peggy Jane Mowen, 88, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born June 5, 1934 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Otto B. and Minnie (Dunn) Bussard.  She was preceded by her husband of more than 30 years, Kenneth Mowen, on February 28, 1998.

Peggy loved her flower beds, fishing, trips to Tennessee, watching her soap operas, and faithfully watched the church service on TV. She treated her great nephew, Matt Bussard, like a grandchild.

She is survived by two sons, Brad Mowen and Steve Mowen; two grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Manspeaker and Jeannett Carpenter of Winchester, VA; two brothers, Dick Bussard and Ronnie Bussard; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, January, 10, 2023 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.

The funeral service will be at 11am on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 with Rev. Danny Fraley officiating. Burial will be in Broadfording Church of God Cemetery.
