PEGGY JANE HERR, 85, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Fahrney-Keedy Home in Boonsboro, Maryland. Born February 19, 1930, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Jacob M. and Olive G. Monn Bonebrake. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert W. Herr on October 31, 2001. She retired in 1991 from the U.S. Postal Service after twenty years of service. Peggy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She volunteered as a Sunday School Class teacher. Peggy was avid Redskins and Celtics fan. She always attended her grandchildren's sporting events. Peggy is survived by two sons, Robert W. Herr, Jr. and wife, Kimberly, of Hagerstown, MD, and Daniel L. Herr and wife, Eugenia Ropp, of Myersville, MD; four grandchildren, Robert, Ashley, Christopher, and Allison; six great grandchildren, McKenzie, Hunter, Samantha, Landon, Micah, and Hazel. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jacob Bonebrake and Paul Bonebrake. Graveside service will be held 10am, Friday, October 16, 2015 at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown. The Rev. Curtis Ehrgott will officiate. The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Hagerstown, Thursday from 6 to 8pm .
