Obituary

PEGGY EYLER FORREST, passed away at her home March 14, 2012. She fought a courageous battle for nineteen months. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Forrest in 2008. She was born July 10, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Gerhart Eyler. She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1949. She enjoyed and was always involved in the class of 1949 class reunions. She was employed with Farmers & Merchants Bank as a teller for ten years, retiring in 1991. She is survived by one son, Terry and wife, Linda of Falling Waters, West Virginia; daughters, Jan Rudisill of Hagerstown, Cheryl Stoddard and husband, Ray of Hagerstown, Robin Mitchell, and husband Jim, of Williamsport. Also, surviving are grandchildren, Jodi Pope, and husband Tommy, of Sherpherdstown, Wendi Beard, and fianc Darren Burnett, of Hagerstown, Colby Forrest, and wife Kate, of Boonsboro, Megan Mitchell and Patrick Mitchell of Williamsport. She also had the joy of six great-grandchildren, Jevon Yarbrough, Ella Forrest, Lena Pope, Kollen Sims, Koltin Sims, and Nolan Forrest. Peggy is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Eyler, Jr., and sister-in-law, Louise Eyler, and son-in-law, Shad Rudisill. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. Rev. Terri Cofiell will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 9 PM. The family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742, or Harmony United Methodist Church Youth Group, Williamsport Pike, Falling Waters, West Virginia 25419.
