Obituary

On May 26, 2016, Pauline Lee Stewart, 87, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully at her home with her husband, Gerald Eugene Stewart by her side. Only the Lord calling her home could separate them after sixty-eight years of marriage. Polly was born September 10, 1928 in Point of Rock, MD and was the daughter of the late Marshall Franklin and Cora Lee Harris Mock. She was the last member of her immediate family. Polly was a 1945 graduate of Brunswick High School, Brunswick, MD. Brunswick was where in 1942 she fell in love with the boy who lived across the street. In 1948 they were married. Polly is survived by two sons, Gerald Mark Stewart of Frederick and Richard M. Stewart of Arlington, VA. Mark's wife Carol though a daughter-in-law was loved by Polly as a true daughter. Mrs. Stewart was a devout Christian and member of Calvary Baptist Church, Boonsboro, MD, where she was one of the oldest members. She enjoyed the many close friends she made through worship there. Polly worked at times as a bookkeeper and secretary, but was primarily a Mother and homemaker. She enjoyed making flower arrangements and crocheting. In addition to her parents, Polly was predeceased by her two brothers, Richard Franklin Mock formally of Leesburg, VA and Marvin Marshal Mock formally of Rockville, MD.
