Pauline Estelle Lee (nee Thompson) passed away 21 September 2024 after a brief illness. She leaves behind a son, Kenneth Lee (Dawn), a daughter, Debra James (Howard), a brother, George Thompson, a sister, Vera Odessa Sims, a grandson, Justin Daddio, and a great-granddaughter, Sadie Daddio, as well as multiple nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Sampson Henry Lee, her mother, Vera Thompson (nee Graves), her father, Leroy Thompson, and a brother, Roy Thompson.
Pauline was born and raised in Washington, DC, graduating from McKinley Technical High School in 1957. Shortly after graduation she married Sampson Lee in Washington, DC and spent the next 20 years as a Navy Wife, traveling across the USA and living in Bermuda for three years. Pauline was a stay-at-home mother until Debra started kindergarten, and over the years worked on and off in the accounting and payroll fields and as a receptionist for numerous national associations based in Washington, DC.
Pauline enjoyed reading diverse types of literature, especially spy mysteries. She also enjoyed music, dancing, travel, and was a lifelong fan of the Washington football team. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially cherishing time spent with her great-granddaughter, Sadie.
