PAUL J. "Flick" SMITH, 94, of Hagerstown, MD died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Autumn Assisted Living in Hagerstown. Born August 12, 1915 in Mercersburg, PA, he was the son of the late George Henry and Carrie M. Knox Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose H. Smith, August 2, 2009. He was retired from Fairchild Corporation after 37 years of employment. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; the founder of the North American Rod and Gun Club; a member of the Elks Lodge #378; member of Eagles Incorporated in Waynesboro, PA; member of UAW Local #842; member of the Moose Club. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Roberts, Nellie Sigler, Margaret Detwiler, Helen Shantz, Goldie Riley and Mildred Chaney and brothers, Harry Smith, Lloyd Smith, John Smith, Clarence Smith and Ralph Smith. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. with Rev. Collin Poston officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
