Obituary

PATRICIA ANN (SPIGLER) DICKERHOFF, 60, of Hagerstown, Maryland, peacefully passed into the arms of her Saviour surrounded by her loving family at home on Sunday, February 15, 2009. Born Thursday, June 24, 1948 in Williamsport, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John Lewis "Hoagie" and Helen Elizabeth (Davis) Spigler, Sr. She was employed by and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Temple, serving as executive assistant to the pastor, church secretary, nursery worker, soulwinner, and much, much more. She never wanted to be in the spotlight, but served selflessly, tirelessly and faithfully without needing recognition or reward. She was known as a loving, sacrificing Mom, sending all three of her daughters to college; a doting Nana, who traveled to Canada and Cameroon, West Africa to see newborn grandchildren; a caring sister; a loyal and compassionate friend, a woman of great faith, strength and courage; a prayer warrior; and a hard worker. She loved her family and church family. She enjoyed traveling, especially beach trips with family and friends. She was a true Proverbs 31 lady and gave her life, her all to her Lord. She leaves an unfathomable void. She is survived by three daughters, Paula Ann Shatzer and husband Dennis of Hagerstown, Pamela Christine Bachman and husband Zane, missionary to Cameroon, West Africa, Amy Elizabeth McMillin and husband Pete of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren, Luke Hudson Bachman, Abigail Joy Bachman, Charity Elise Bachman, Priscilla Ruth Bachman, Michael Conner McMillin, Chad Andrew McMillin and Baby McMillin due September 2009; two sisters, Catherine N. "Cathy" Stauder of Williamsport, E. Jean Shank and husband Rick of Hagerstown; two brothers, John Lewis "Sonny" Spigler, Jr. and wife Marty of Greencastle, Pennsylvania and William Ray "Bill" Spigler and wife Judy of Williamsport; a step-brother, Joel Spigler of Falling Waters, West Virginia; an uncle, aunts, cousins, nephew, nieces, and many close friends. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Norald Augustus Spigler, and a nephew, Kevin Michael Stauder. The family will receive family and friends Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 6 to 8 p. m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Services will be held Friday, February 20, 2009 at 11:00 a. m. at Emmanuel Baptist Temple, Hagerstown. Dr. Larry Aikens, Jr. and Dr. Ed Hampton will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park of Hagerstown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Temple Building Fund (in memory of Pat Dickerhoff), 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742 or the Pat Dickerhoff Legacy Fund for her grandchildren, c/o Paul Shatzer, 1663 Woodlands Run, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742. Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies
