Obituary

Pamela “Pam” Louise Spangler, 68, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born May 15, 1958, in Washington County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ronald Lee French, Sr. and Blanche Violetta Young Shantz.

Pam was a 1976 graduate of Williamsport High School and worked as a bus driver for The Arc for 20 years. She had a love for ancestry research and enjoyed discovering family connections and learning more about her family’s history.

Pam had a heart of gold, and her generosity knew no bounds. She was always willing to open her heart and home to those in need, taking in not only stray cats but people as well. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many. She also dearly loved her cats, Cuddle Bug, Love Bug, and Mittens, who held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Randall “Randy” Spangler; her daughter, Misty D. Kenter (Mike); two grandchildren; four siblings, Ronald L. French, Jr., Eva M. Ingram, Mary J. Koons, and Donald L. French (Ruth); her half-brother, James Robey, whom she discovered through her love of ancestry research; and her sister-in-law, Margie M. French.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard E. French, and her brother-in-law, Mark L. Ingram.

A viewing will be held at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Manor Church of the Brethren, 18511 Manor Church Rd., Boonsboro, MD. Pastor Kevin Smoot will officiate. Burial will follow in Manor Church Cemetery.
