Jan 21, 1931 — Apr 24, 2026
Oliver Keefer Martin, 95, of Williamsport, Maryland, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Doey's House in Hagerstown.
Born on January 21, 1931, in Washington County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Samuel Dorsey Martin and Alice Keefer Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Churchey) Martin.
Oliver spent his early years working as a dairy farmer on the family farm, a role he held until 1966. He then joined the family-run Wilson Store, where he worked until 1975. Following that, he was employed at Grove Manufacturing in janitorial maintenance. He later continued his working career at Garden State Tanning, where he remained until his retirement in 1996.
He was a charter member of the Wilson Ruritan Club and also belonged to the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed bowling with the Wilson Ruritan League and found great joy in dancing—on any Saturday night, wherever there was a live band, you could be sure to find him on the dance floor.
He is survived by his three sons, Thomas Martin, Donald Martin, and John Paul Martin (Laura); his sister, Janice Keefer; two grandchildren, Jarret Martin and Kayleigh Martin; two great-grandchildren, Emersyn Martin and Wren Martin; nieces, Brenda and Jenny Martin, Kathy (Cliff) Lee, and Patsy (Rick) MacInnes; numerous cousins; his lady friend, Betty Morgan; and former sister-in-law, JoAnn Kline.
In addition to his wife and parents, Oliver was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Jean Mundy; granddaughter, Trisha Mohamad; and two brothers, S. Dorsey Martin, Jr. and Robert Martin.
A viewing will be held at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 6:00-8:00pm.
The funeral will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the funeral home. Pastor Dennis Whitmore will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
