OLIVER ISHMAEL CAMPHER, 84, of 39 Charles Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Friday, January 1, 2010. Born February 4, 1925 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Walter and Catherine Jones Campher. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years, Lelia Lewis Campher in 2000. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving with the U. S. Army. He retired in 1984 from the City of Hagerstown as a courier. He was a member of Greater Campher Temple. Oliver served as a national officer of Kings Apostle Church World Ministries. He is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Lewis of Hagerstown, Catherine Campher Warrick of Colonia, NJ, Shawn Campher Bray of NJ and Dawn Lewis Jones of Hagerstown; two sons, Kevin Campher of Hagerstown and Antwan Thomas of Martinsburg, WV; two sisters, Rhoda Lytle Tisdale of Buffalo, NY and Maxine Blake of Hagerstown; two great grandchildren who cared for Oliver, Cassis Lewis and Harry Jones, Jr. both of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Oliver J. Campher; three sisters, Berneice Hill, Dolores Randolph and Beulah Conwell; three brothers, Walter, Campher, Maylon Campher, Sr. and Phillip Campher. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Greater Campher Temple, 125 West Bethel Street, Hagerstown, MD. Bishop Wilbert Baltimore will officiate. Memories of Oliver's life will be eulogized by; Elder Elaine Lewis, Elder Edward Rollins, Sr., Elder Verna Rollins, and Pastor J.T. Blake. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military graveside service will be conducted by Morris Frock American Legion Post No. 42.
