Obituary

Nina Elouise Randolph Boock, 95, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. Born March 14, 1923 in Roseville, IL, she was the daughter of the late Marvin F. and Harriet (Meachum) Randolph. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Duane M. Boock who passed away in 1987; one; daughter, Judith A. Pickens who passed in 1991; and five brothers and four sisters. She is survived by a son, Thomas D. Boock and wife, Barbara, of Chambersburg, PA; a daughter, Cynthia E. Pennesi and husband, John, of Hancock, MD; five grandsons, Craig Boock and wife, Tina, Brett Boock and wife, Diane, Sean Boock and wife, Michelle, all of Chambersburg, PA, Troy Pickens and Jerri Spahr of Smithsburg, MD, and Brian Pickens of Hagerstown, MD; seven great grandchildren, Danielle Boock, Alyssa Boock, Hunter Boock, and Gage Boock, all of Chambersburg, PA, Andrea Boock of CA, Brittani Pickens of Hagerstown, MD, and Hayli Erdmann of Toledo, OH; and two great-great grandchildren, Raemi Pickens and Briella Pickens. Nina graduated from Roseville Senior High School. She was employed at the Woolworth Dime Store in Monmouth, IL where she met Duane. They were married for 44 years. Nina spent her life with Duane as he served in the U.S. Army for 30 years. They traveled both abroad and in the U.S. Nina supported the men and women who served in the military. After moving to Hagerstown in 1963 while Duane was stationed at Site R and the Pentagon, Nina worked at Angstrohm Precision in Hagerstown for 13 years. Nina and Duane retired from their careers in 1973 and spent 14 years traveling to Hawaii, FL and visiting family from IL. Nina loved to cook, travel, fellowship with her children, spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed fellowship and serving at her church, St. Andrew's United Methodist Church and Christian Women's Club of Hagerstown. She was loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all. The funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 1020 Maryland Avenue, Hagerstown, MD at 11am on Thursday, March 29, 2018 with Pastor Mike Henning officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 1020 Maryland Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740; Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742; or Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
