NERVY MARIA SMITH STOVER, 87, of Hagerstown, Maryland, went to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Williamsport Retirement Village. Born July 31, 1927, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Keller and Alta Guessford Bowman. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard D. Smith, Sr. in 1969 and her second husband, Milton Stover in 1995. Nervy was a farmer's wife, helping to run three farms and co-owner of the Cavetown Market. She was previously employed with Dorbee Manufacturing, Londontown Manufacturing and retired in 1992 from J.C. Penny. After her retirement she enjoyed the Arts and Crafts world. She was a member of Broadfording Church of Brethren Fellowship. She is survived by three, daughters, Shirley J. Smith of Hagerstown, Linda M. Martz of Cearfoss and Judy A. Brumbaugh of Martinsburg; three sons, Roy L. Smith and Richard D. Smith, Jr both of Hagerstown and Larry T. Smith of Clear Spring; one sister, Marie E. Bussard of Williamsport; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Jane Stevenson; and a half-brother, Clifford Bowman. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Broadfording Church of Brethren Fellowship, 14010 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Len Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD and one hour prior to the services at the Church.
