NELSON ANGELO TURNER, 75, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center. Born September 13, 1937, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Carlton J. Turner and Vera Faith Turner Bowers. He was a 1955 graduate of Hagerstown High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force for four years. Nelson retired from Mack/Volvo after forty years of service. He attended Otterbein United Methodist Church. At Rockford Crescent he served an apprenticeship as tool and die maker. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Habitat Restore. Nelson was a faithful blood donor who just received his twenty-six gallon pin. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Turner; daughters, Patience Powell and husband, Kenneth of Mukilteo, WA, Faith Toston of Radford, VA, Melody Crist and husband, Bryan of Philipsburg, PA, Kristy Rohr and husband, Jared of Sharpsburg, MD; sons, Jack Turner and wife, Nikki of Glendale, AZ, Neil Turner and wife, Jennifer of Christiansburg, VA; and ten grandchildren and seven great granddaughters. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Robison and Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Little Rose Hill Cemetery in Clear Spring, Maryland. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. and a half hour prior to service. Memorial donations may be made to Children in Need, Inc., 131 West North Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740 or donate a pint of blood to the Red Cross in Nelson's name.
