Nancy Virginia Stroupe, 74, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at her home to be with her Lord this Christmas season. Her husband, Jack, and caregiver, Kiera Widdows were by her side. Born September 6, 1942 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Agnes V. (Kendle) and George P. Socks Sr. Nancy attended South Hagerstown High School. She worked for Maryland Maid Kitchens. She was a member of Gateway Ministries in Williamsport, MD. Nancy is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jack L. Stroupe; two sons, Ralph Johnson, Jr. and wife, Kim, of Hancock, MD, and Martin Johnson and companion, Christy Merrbaugh, of Hagerstown; step-daughter, Jackie Stroupe; one sister, Gerri Zeigler; one brother, James E. Socks and wife, Jo, all of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to Kiera Widdows for the care provided to Nancy. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by three sisters, Francis Moats, Margaret Sines, and Arline Miller; three brothers, Robert Kendle, Sr., George Socks, Jr., and Raymond Socks; and one nephew, Gary Zeigler. Services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Dale Cosden will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
