Nancy Maria Reamy, 67, of 601 Salem Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away Tuesday March 11, 2008 at her home. Born Sunday November 17, 1940, in St. Louis Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Lillian Messmer. She was graduated from Hagerstown Junior College with a degree in Criminal Justice, served in the United States Marine Corps and attained the rank of Sergeant First Class in the United States Army Reserve. She was retired from the Washington County Sheriffs Department in1991 after 18 years of service. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Dixon-Troxell American Legion Post 211and a life member of the Marine Corp League, Bulldog Detachment. Preceded in death by her brothers Larry Messmer and Matthew Messmer and sisters Gertrude Kock and Evelyn Wesley, she is survived by her son, John Reamy and wife Laura of Hagerstown, granddaughters Amy and Bethany her niece Judith Sutton of Cedar Hill Missouri, and her foster daughter Tonya Wible of Hagerstown Maryland. A life celebration memorial service will be held at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown on Saturday the 15th at 3:00 P.M. The family will be available to receive friends at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Nancy's name to the Mason Dixon Scout Council at 18600 Crestwood Drive, Hagerstown, MD, 21742.
