Nancie Lou Shindledecker, 82, of Hagerstown, passed away, Sunday, April 14, 2024, at her home.  Born June 2, 1941 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late George Samuel and Louise Laura (Hays) Bowers.

Nancie was a 1959 graduate of Smithsburg High School. She was a PreK teacher and retired from the Board of Education after 36 years. She was loved by her family and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her son, Joel Shindledecker; daughter, Tammie Shindledecker, and "husband", Robert; three granddaughters, Shannon Shindledecker Cullison, Laura Pennington and Sara Pennington; three great grandchildren, Christavia Butler, Krishae Butler, and Alanie Pennington; and her friend of 50 years, Lonna Stonebreaker.

Nancie was preceded in death by two sons, William and Dean Bordenave; and one brother, William Smith.

Services will be held 11am Friday, April 19, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 6-8pm.
