Molly Joann
Handford
Apr 18, 1955 — Jan 29, 2025
Molly Joann Handford, 69, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on January 29, 2025, at Creekside Village.
Born April 18, 1955 in Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Ozie-Lee Virgin & Laudell Handford.
She was a high school graduate.
She had a love for baking! She baked the majority of her nieces' and nephews' birthday cakes as they grew up. She worked in the bakery at Food Lion and retired from there, to become one of the best Daycare providers there was!
She was never in the military, but if you knew her then you knew she was a woman of steel! Very strong and independent, but always HELPFUL!
Boyyyyy, she loved her some old-time television. Anything with John Wayne in it - Gunsmoke, Matlock, Bonanza, Walker, Texas Ranger, Sandford & Son, Little House on the Prairie, and Andy Griffith Show. And we cannot forget about her daily dose of Days of Our Lives.
By blood she had ONE child, named Mike Johnson, who unfortunately is no longer with us. With the amount of love she had in her big ol' heart, Joann was often mistaken to be the mother of multiple of her nieces and nephews, as follows: Christopher Creary, Glenford Creary Jr., Jacqueline (Sheena) Creary, Elijah Creary Sr., Tylisa (Bunky) Green, Leshia Hylton, Sheldon Hylton, Donovan Hylton, Ky'Mani Harris, Jah'Stavieh Harris, LaTonya Handford, and Tennille (Chocolate) Byrd. She loved and treated every single one of them as if they were her own! She is survived by her three sisters, Jetta Gilbert, Mamie Glanton, and Ormando Handford, and many, many more family members that she loved unconditionally as well.
Your life was a blessing, and your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
John 16: 22
